2021 Car News Regarding Auto Technology

In the latest car news about technology, it turns out that Tesla vehicles’ owners care much more about their cars than they do Elon Musk. In fact, many consumers see the founder of the company as a negative feature of the brand. A lot of that is due to his views that he publically displays on social media, particularly Twitter. Even so, people see these advanced and easy-to-use electric cars as advantageous enough to buy.

When it comes to electric vehicles, very few companies create an experience like Tesla does that’s as Apple-like as possible, particularly when it comes to this industry. Additionally, this company makes some of the most technologically advanced cars in the market, making for the perfect combination. However, it’s not clear what direction the company will go and if another brand with a different owner will take over.

In other technology and car news, Pennsylvania has created a state law that declares autonomous delivery robots as pedestrians, allowing them to operate on sidewalks in cities. This follows multiple other states as having done this. These robots are useful because they prevent requiring gas-inefficient and large trucks with drivers to deliver packages. Perhaps later, they’ll even have their own lanes for safe delivery.

These autonomous vehicles have artificial intelligence for navigation, useful for navigating social areas, particularly crowded sidewalks. They even have to avoid people droning on their smartphones and not paying attention to what’s around them. There also has to be a social awareness level, following the unwritten rules that people adhere to when roaming about cities, sidewalks, and streets. It’s a very complicated process.

While most people think of how autonomous and electric vehicles will change people’s lives on the road, they don’t consider how things will change when maneuvering on the sidewalk. It’s likely that this recent robotics addition is only the beginning and will lead to a bit more of a crowd than what people expect.
